Harold Ellison, our representative of the student body of California State University at Northridge is introduced and welcomed. Mr. Ellison is a Nutrition/Food Science major, captain of the sailing team, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, and in his third year.
Conditional Approval from DONE for NENC June 25th Election Procedures. Don Dwiggins discussed the process and received the council’s thanks for his hard work.
A motion was made to approve the procedures, seconded, and was passed unanimously.
After consideration and discussion a motion was made to support this effort with an outlay of $5,000.00 to sponsor the fireworks and a NENC banner in the gym. The motion was made by Charles Bunnell and seconded by Judith Nutter. The motion carried unanimously.
Alice McCain discussed the authorization of up to $5,000.00 for items to advertise the work of the NENC. Alice McCain made the motion. Thomas Baker seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously.

Lassen between Reseda and Etiwanda.)
John Bwarie, representing Councilmember Greig Smith, explained the city would provide tools and safety vests. The adopted area is to be cleaned at least once a quarter, and a sign announcing NENC’s commitment to the area will be placed.
A motion was made to make the commitment to adopt the area. The motion was seconded by Joe Nam. The motion was carried
Thomas Baker discussed and made the motion that five representatives be authorized to have access to the Early Notification System. The motion was seconded by Judie Levin Sanchez. The motion passed unanimously.
Don Dwiggins spoke to the issue of the LANCC.
John Bwarie, representing Councilmember Greig Smith, spoke of actions by the councilman including his considerable participation in the city budget committee. He thanked the community for the success of "Citrus Sunday," and announced the household hazards pickup on April 22nd.
Bob Erio spoke of the Community Integration Services.
Anita SantoSpirito spoke of the need for flashing lights at crosswalks in our community. A report had already been filed. A new report and request would be filed at Councilmember Greig Smith’s office.
Ray Calnan announced the CSUN "Run, Walk, Roll" event April 29th.
Roger Gerchas, a crime victim asked about neighborhood watch programs in the neighborhood.
